La flûtiste américaine Andrea Brachfeld est une pionnière du jazz et des musiques latines, avec plus de cinquante années de carrière à son actif.
Première femme flûtiste à intégrer une charanga (ensemble cubain) aux États-Unis, elle a partagé la scène avec les plus grands noms du latin jazz : Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Machito… et plus récemment Hubert Laws, au Keystone Korner de Baltimore. Depuis la sortie de son premier album en 1978, elle a signé plus d’une dizaine de disques et collabore régulièrement avec le pianiste new-yorkais Bill O’Connell.
Sa venue en France est un véritable événement ! Pour fêter ça, elle sera entourée d’une redoutable section rythmique : le contrebassiste Gilles Naturel et le batteur Arnaud Dolmen, tout juste auréolé d’une Victoire du Jazz 2025 dans la catégorie « Artiste Instrumental ». À leurs côtés, deux pianistes iconiques se relaieront : Kirk Lightsey pour le premier set et Franck Amsallem pour le second.
American flutist Andrea Brachfeld is a pioneer of jazz and Latin music, with a career spanning more than fifty years.
The first female flutist to join a charanga (Cuban ensemble) in the United States, she has shared the stage with the biggest names in Latin jazz: Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Machito… and more recently Hubert Laws, at the Keystone Korner in Baltimore. Since the release of her first album in 1978, she has recorded more than a dozen albums and collaborates regularly with New York pianist Bill O’Connell.
Her visit to France is a real event! To celebrate, she will be accompanied by a formidable rhythm section: double bassist Gilles Naturel and drummer Arnaud Dolmen, who has just won a Victoire du Jazz 2025 award in the “Instrumental Artist” category. Alongside them, two iconic pianists will take turns: Kirk Lightsey for the first set and Franck Amsallem for the second.
