“Soblom” est un sextet de musiciens issus de divers horizons, réunis autour d’une quête de création dans l’univers du jazz contemporain.
Ces jeunes musiciens de jazz se sont rencontrés au sein du CNSM de Paris, et proposent des compositions influencées par différentes branches du jazz autour du monde.
On peut notamment citer le jazz nordique (Lars Danielsson), le jazz israélien (Avishai Cohen ou Shaï Maestro), le jazz arménien (Tigran Hamasyan) ou plus généralement l’univers du label ECM.
Soblom crée ainsi une musique qui sort des sentiers battus, très impétueuse, souvent déroutante, et quelquefois plus mélancolique.
“Soblom” is a sextet of musicians from diverse backgrounds, who are united by their quest for creativity in the world of contemporary jazz.
These young musicians met at the CNSM in Paris, and their compositions are influenced by various forms of jazz from around the world.
These include Nordic jazz (Lars Danielsson), Israeli jazz (Avishai Cohen and Shaï Maestro), Armenian jazz (Tigran Hamasyan), and the ECM label more generally.
Soblom creates off-the-beaten-track music that is very impetuous, often disconcerting, and sometimes melancholy.
